  2. One of the things I learned most from camp, set aside from many, many things, is the ability I had to go beyond what I thought were my own limits and expectations. It is a life lesson that I have repeatedly applied in my life, time and time again.

This is one reason why I love and adore the sunrise hike. You wake up at 2 am. You're dead tired. If you're in front you feel that every step you take is a step of faith because you can only see 3 or 4 feet in front of you and you're unsure what could be lurking in the woods, because it's so dark sometimes you feel like you're walking into a dead end because you can't really see what you're going through nor your end goal. Then you reach the peak. As the sun comes up you can look down and see all that you've accomplished.
That's what trusting in the Lord is all about. Trusting that He knows your own limits and expectations far beyond what you can see for yourself. Often times I shudder to think what I would be like if I only lived within the limitations and expectations I thought I was capable of doing, instead of taking that extra step beyond. Thank you Brighton for teaching me to trust in the Lord, to take a step outside what I thought I was capable of achieving.
